Our Doctors

Dr. Jabina Ramde, O.D.

Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Jabina Ramde began her practice at Eye Lite Optometry in Los Altos in 1999. She received a bachelor's degree in Biology from UCLA and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the UC Berkeley Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry. She holds certification in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases and glaucoma, and completed externship programs at the Livermore VA Hospital, Oakland VA Hospital, and Omni Eye Specialists in Baltimore, Maryland. She also gained experience in refractive surgery through her work at Advanced Eye Medical Group in Mission Viejo, CA.

Dr. Ramde has a special interest in fitting patients who have had difficulty with contact lenses — including those with astigmatism and those needing bifocal lenses — as well as working with young patients for myopia control and corneal refractive therapy.

She is committed to providing compassionate care to underserved communities locally and abroad, and partners with the Los Altos/Mountain View school PTA to offer free eye examinations and eyeglasses to children. She is an active member of the Santa Clara County Optometry Society and served as a Trustee of Professional Affairs from 2012 to 2014.

Dr. Ramde is a proud mother of three daughters. In her free time, she enjoys cooking for friends and family, practicing yoga, and traveling.

Dr. Audrey Chu, O.D.

Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Audrey Chu was born and raised in Los Altos. She attended Homestead High School and went on to graduate from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a dual degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology and Psychology. Her passion for patient care led her to pursue her Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA.

Dr. Chu practices the full scope of optometry, with a focus on specialty contact lenses and myopia control. Her clinical training includes internships at VA Fresno, Vision One Optometry, Boston Medical Center, Perkins School for the Blind, New England Eye Institute, and DotHouse Community Health Center.

Outside of work, Dr. Chu enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, hiking, and exploring all the great food the Bay Area has to offer.

Dr. Yujia Zhang, O.D.

Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Yujia Zhang is a South Bay native who is thrilled to be back serving the community she grew up in. After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, she went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from UC Berkeley's Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry. During her training, she completed rotations at VA Puget Sound, Marin Community Clinics, UCSF Proctor Institution, and Berkeley Eye Center's specialty and primary care clinics.

Dr. Zhang practices full-scope optometry and is TPA certified to manage a variety of ocular conditions, including glaucoma. She has a special interest in myopia control and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Outside of work, Dr. Zhang enjoys exploring the Bay Area with her partner, spending time with friends and family, photography, traveling, and adding more books to her Kindle than she can possibly read.

Dr. Barbara Bell, O.D.

Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Bell was born and raised in Slovakia. She moved to Los Altos in 1993 and has lived in Los Gatos since 1999. She earned her B.S. in Biology from Santa Clara University and subsequently received her doctorate from the UC Berkeley Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry.

Dr. Bell owned her own practice in Los Gatos for 11 years and now looks forward to providing excellent care at Eye Lite Optometry. Her passion for her work is evident to every patient who enters her exam room. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages with a wide range of ocular and optical needs, with a particular interest in pediatric patients, glaucoma patients, and patients with autoimmune diseases.

Dr. Bell is a mother of two sons. In her free time she enjoys skiing, hiking, cooking, reading, traveling, and studying history.

Dr. Kathleen Shen, O.D.

Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Kathleen Shen received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. Her hospital-based training included work at the Veterans Administration hospital in Sacramento and Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco.

Dr. Shen was recognized by Bausch & Lomb for exceptional clinical potential in contact lenses and received the Frederick W. Brock Binocular Vision Thesis Award. She has volunteered with Project Eyes Mission and Life Hope Centers in Mountain View. Dr. Shen lives in Los Altos and is the mother of two children.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking in the hills and playing board games with friends. Her favorite game is The Crew.
